Coach Tyler Redmon began his martial arts journey at the age of 11 and has dedicated much of his life to training and competing in combat sports. Throughout his career, he has competed professionally in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and professional boxing, gaining valuable experience inside the cage and the ring while continuing to develop his skills in MMA, the sport of boxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
As a father of six, family is at the center of Tyler’s life. Fatherhood has strengthened his belief that great coaches do more than teach techniques—they serve as positive role models who help others build confidence, character, and resilience both on and off the mats.
Tyler is a certified USA Boxing coach and has also coached youth soccer, giving him experience working with athletes of all ages and skill levels. He is also SafeSport certified and has completed the CDC’s Heads Up Concussion Training, reflecting his commitment to athlete safety and creating a positive, respectful training environment. His experience as both a competitor and coach allows him to connect with beginners taking their first class as well as athletes preparing for competition.
Before becoming an instructor, Tyler spent a few years as a home healthcare worker, caring for individuals with serious illnesses and disabilities. That work demanded patience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of others. Although the emotional toll of watching many of the people he cared for decline and eventually pass away led him to focus more on his family and his passion for coaching, those experiences helped shape the instructor he is today.
While MMA is sometimes misunderstood as being only about toughness or aggression, Tyler believes the best martial artists are defined by their character. He is passionate about helping students become stronger physically and mentally while developing integrity, discipline, humility, confidence, and resilience. Every class is an opportunity not only to build better athletes but also better people.
Whether someone walks through the door to improve their fitness, learn self-defense, build confidence, or pursue competition, Tyler is committed to creating a welcoming environment where every student is encouraged, challenged, and supported. His goal isn’t simply to develop better fighters—it’s to help every student discover their strengths, believe in themselves, and become the best version of themselves.
Coach Tyler is proud to be part of the Aspire Performance Center team, where the focus is on building confident athletes, strong character, and a supportive community for students of all ages.
