October 13th, 2026 at 10:00 am

Coach Steve Stark has been training in martial arts for more than three decades. Beginning his journey at the age of six, Steve developed a lifelong passion for learning and has trained in a wide variety of martial arts, including Western boxing, Taekwondo, Karate, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Folkstyle Wrestling. His diverse background has given him a well-rounded understanding of both striking and grappling, allowing him to draw from multiple disciplines when helping students develop their skills.

At Aspire Performance Center, Steve serves as the Lead Instructor for the Kickboxing program while continuing to train in Aspire’s Taekwondo program. He believes there is always something new to learn and enjoys challenging himself by continuing to grow as both a martial artist and an instructor.

Outside of the dojang, Steve works as an exercise therapist, giving him an in-depth understanding of biomechanics, human movement, flexibility, strength development, and injury prevention. His professional background allows him to help students understand not only how to perform a technique, but why it works.

Students quickly discover that Coach Steve has a unique ability to analyze movement and explain the details that others often overlook. He enjoys breaking techniques down into simple, understandable pieces, helping students understand the purpose behind every movement. Whether helping a beginner develop proper fundamentals or showing an experienced athlete how to generate more power and efficiency, Steve’s analytical approach gives students the confidence to improve through knowledge, repetition, and purposeful practice.

Steve believes every student has different strengths, goals, and physical abilities. His understanding of exercise science allows him to adapt techniques and training methods to fit each individual’s needs while helping students safely improve strength, mobility, flexibility, and overall performance.

Coach Steve has played an important role in the growth of Aspire Performance Center. After hearing repeated requests from students and families for a kickboxing program, Master Roger recognized that Steve’s background and experience made him the ideal person to bring that vision to life. Steve agreed to launch a trial program, and what began as a small offering quickly grew into Aspire’s thriving Kickboxing program. As the program continued to expand, Coach Juan Romero joined the team to introduce Muay Thai instruction, creating one of the area’s most well-rounded striking programs while giving students the opportunity to develop additional skills in both traditional kickboxing and Muay Thai.

Whether a student is training for fitness, self-defense, competition, or personal growth, Coach Steve is dedicated to helping them move better, train smarter, and become stronger and more confident both inside and outside the gym.

Train Hard. Stay Humble. Never Quit
