Meet Master Brent Eklund
September 8th, 2026 at 10:00 am

Master Brent Eklund is a Kukkiwon Certified Black Belt and a valued member of the Aspire Performance Center coaching team. Having trained under both Master Roger Willard and Master Len Lawrence, Master Brent has developed his own unique approach to martial arts by combining the strengths of both instructors into a well-rounded style focused on skill, strategy, and physical preparation.

Through years of training, Master Brent has developed a dynamic style that blends a strong offensive game with exceptional defensive ability. His ability to attack with purpose while also controlling distance, timing, and defense allows him to help students become more complete martial artists.

Master Brent believes that physical conditioning is a critical part of martial arts success. As the leader of Aspire’s cardio and conditioning programs, he challenges students to reach levels of fitness they often never believed were possible. His training helps athletes develop the endurance, strength, and mental toughness needed to perform at their best when matches become difficult and fatigue begins to impact technique.

At the highest levels of competition, the difference is often made in the final moments—when one athlete is still able to maintain proper technique, focus, and intensity while another begins to slow down. Master Brent’s conditioning programs help Aspire athletes develop that advantage.

However, this level of conditioning is about much more than competition. In a self-defense situation, the ability to stay calm, think clearly, and continue to respond effectively when fatigue sets in can make a critical difference. Master Brent teaches students that being physically prepared is an important part of being prepared to protect themselves and others.

A United States Navy veteran, Master Brent brings the same discipline, commitment, and determination he developed through his service into every training session. He understands that success comes from consistency, hard work, and the willingness to push beyond perceived limits.

For Master Brent, martial arts is about developing the complete athlete and helping every student discover they are capable of more than they thought possible.
